Investing in Excellence: The Value of Coachinginschools Training for Headteachers
What's the value of Coachinginschools Training for Headteachers?
As a Trust Leader, Helen decided to invest heavily in the Coachinginschools system to support the schools she works with.
In this interview she explains the huge difference it made for Headteachers, schools and the young people – and what ‘return on investment’ she got.
She sums up the Coachinginschools Programme as: “Revolutionary, Exciting & Inspirational.”
'Golden Nuggets' include:
Q: How would you describe the Coachinginschools programme?
I feel inspired because of the difference that I see it’s having on the people that I’m coaching and how it empowers them, how it motivates them, how it builds their confidence, and how much they gain from it in a very short period of time.
Q: Is it worth the investment for Headteachers?
It’s a worthy investment which will empower their staff to find their solutions, and it will change the culture in the way that the Headteacher wants it to change…and in the long term it will impact positively on school improvement and the education of young people. It works incredibly well, and it is most certainly a programme to heavily invest in.
Q: Does it represent value for money?
Absolutely value for money! What I would say to a Headteacher is it’s most certainly value for money because of the longevity.
Q: How does the CIS course differ from other coaching courses you’ve done?
You’ve got concrete things to actually use. And that’s what makes it so powerful. That’s what makes it really stand out from other coaching programmes that I’ve done before.
Q: How well did it match your expectations?
It exceeded my expectations! I knew that I needed to invest in coaching. We had to empower the leaders to be able to lead with accountability, yet support…but how powerful! …It exceeded every expectation to be honest! Coaching leaders in different contexts, in different circumstances – with every single one of them there’s a marked change in their leadership.
Q: What’s it been like training with Coachinginschools?
It’s been brilliant! So when the programme came to an end I was really quite sad. One thing which I do feel is that you’re part of a community. I found the whole experience really, really rewarding.
